The most recent footage of Rodtang’s training showed him looking incredible when he was pounding pads.
When he takes on Superlek on September 22, ‘The Iron Man’ will be facing what is likely to be the most difficult test he has encountered to date in ONE Championship. The match between the two Thai superstars is slated to take place as the main event of ONE Friday Fights 34. At stake in this fight is Rodtang’s ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title.
“The Iron Man” needs to be ready for battle against Superlek, who not only has the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title but also a perfect record of eight wins and zero losses in professional Muay Thai. ONE recently posted a video on Instagram showing the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion striking pads. The caption for the post read: “One World Champion.”
“Rodtang is looking SHARP. Can he defeat Superlek on September 22 at ONE Friday Fights 34, where he will be defending the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title?”
This year, Rodtang Jitmuangnon has battled twice and emerged victorious both times. In his first fight, which took place in January versus Jiduo Yibu, he defeated his opponent via unanimous decision. On May 5, ‘The Iron Man’ made his comeback to action in order to defend his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title. He was successful in doing so by knocking out Edgar Tabares in the second round of their match.
Meanwhile, Superlek has been in the ring four times this year and emerged victorious each time. The debut of “The Kicking Machine” featured two successful defenses of kickboxing world titles, one against Daniel Puertas and the other against Danial Williams. After establishing his dominance in the flyweight division of kickboxing, he went on to win two Muay Thai matches by knockout, defeating Nabil Anane and Tagir Khalilov respectively.
The fight between Superlek and “The Iron Man” was supposed to take place in March, but “The Iron Man” has since withdrawn from the bout due to an injury. The fortunate news for fight fans is that the must-see clash will be featured on September 22 at ONE Friday Fights 34, which will take place at the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
