Nabil Anane, a rising star in ONE Championship, has pretty much towered over every opponent he has ever played, and there is no reason to believe that will change in his forthcoming match against the powerful Superlek Kiatmoo9.
The rookie of ONE Championship, who stands at 6-foot-2, will try to make the most of his size advantage in order to sabotage the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion’s comeback to Muay Thai on June 23 at ONE Friday Fights 22.
Nabil gave an interview to a promotion company based in Singapore prior to the most high-profile fight of his promising career. In the interview, he stated that he aims to use his towering height and ludicrous reach to upset his more experienced opponent:
My height gives me an advantage over everyone I compete against. I have this enormous advantage, and [Superlek] will have a significant disadvantage as a result of that. It poses a significant challenge for each and every one of my rivals.
Superlek, who stands at 5-foot-7 and is considered tall for the division, will have a difficult time reaching Nabil’s chin because of the distance between them. After all, the teenager who is only 19 years old towers above him by five inches, which is a significant difference, particularly in activities that involve physical conflict.
“The Kicking Machine” has fought some towering opponents in the past, but he has never faced one who is as rangy and talented as the Muay Thai prodigy.
Superlek, on the other hand, is a weathered veteran who has fought over 160 times in his career, including 10 bouts inside the Circle, and he has nearly seen it all during the course of his lengthy career.
It is possible that the Algerian possesses the physical capabilities necessary to provide the star from Kiatmoo9 Gym with a challenge; however, it remains to be seen if he will be able to capitalize on those tools this coming Friday at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
