Kade Ruotolo, the current world champion in lightweight submission grappling for ONE Championship, is now having the time of his life.
The 20-year-old is not only considered to be among the top grapplers in the world at such a young age, but he also has the luxury of leading whatever kind of lifestyle he chooses when he is not competing.
Kade Ruotolo and his brother Tye live in San Diego, California, where they combine their interests in surfing and jiu-jitsu to create a laid-back and carefree lifestyle on the coast. Kade is also an accomplished jiu-jitsu practitioner.
Since they started competing in ONE Championship, the twin prodigies have wowed audiences all over the world, and as a result, they have amassed a level of fame and wealth that is beyond anything they could have imagined. Because of this, the Ruotolos have been able to build their ideal gym on one of Costa Rica’s many stunning beaches.
The Atos brand product extended an invitation to his devoted followers to embrace the “pura vida” spirit and train alongside him in paradise in anticipation of the imminent opening of his second house to the general public.
During an interview with The Jiu-Jitsu Times, Ruotolo disclosed the following information:
“We’re excited for everyone tuning in [to the title defense] to hopefully meet us out at the gym in Costa Rica, surf, and train while enjoying that pura vida lifestyle out there – and come train with us when it’s over.”
The phrase “pura vida” can be loosely translated to mean either a simple or a pure life, both of which are what Ruotolo is all about.
However, before the youngest ADCC world champion can come back to his way of life, he will need to first take care of business on June 9 at ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov.
In the first of two world title battles that will take place this coming weekend at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, the reigning lightweight submission grappling king of ONE must first defend his crown against the fearless challenger Tommy Langaker.
This high-stakes grappling match, along with the rest of the 10-fight card, is accessible for free for Prime Video users in North America. Do not miss out on this opportunity to watch it.
