“Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier 3” – UFC lightweight makes WWE-esque prediction for ‘Bones’ return

It has been said that the conflict between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier was the most ferocious in UFC history. In their professional careers, the two men squared off against one other twice as light heavyweights, with ‘Bones’ winning their first match and ‘DC’s’ second victory being overturned into a no-contest due to a steroid violation.

Terrance McKinney, a rising lightweight in the UFC, is obviously interested in having their trilogy match. MMA fans have always pondered how a third fight between Jones and Cormier would go after their fierce rivalry produced two incredibly compelling contests.

This weekend at UFC 285, Jon Jones will make his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane in the UFC octagon. At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the two men will square off for the vacant heavyweight championship. T Wrecks hopes for a surprise backup fighter when “Bones” makes a comeback for a title bout.

The 28-year-old American recently prepared a script for a fictitious trilogy battle between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier in a tweet. In a dramatic storyline twist akin to a WWE event, McKinney tweeted:

“The arena goes black. DC comes tumbling down from the rafters. Rip takes off his suit and tie. JJ x DC 3.”

Jon Jones next fight: ‘Bones’ quashes beef with Daniel Cormier ahead of UFC 285

Jon Jones has thought back on his feud with Daniel Cormier ahead of his title bout at UFC 285, and it seems like he’s willing to put the past behind them.

Due to their two title battles against one another, the former champions were a part of what is perhaps the most intense rivalry in UFC history. Personal jabs, disgusting rants, and even death threats were common in the run-up to their fights. Even though they had the chance to fight in the octagon, Jones and Cormier famously fought in a face-off before their first encounter in 2015.

Jon Jones wants to leave all of that in the past, though. Jones sent out a string of tweets in support of Daniel Cormier’s decision to return to the UFC 285 cageside commentary booth. Jones emphasised his desire to reconcile with Cormier in an interview with RMC Sport. “Bones” said:

“I can never claim to have truly despised “DC,” I just wanted to defeat him. There’s a respect you simply naturally have for the man after beating him… The conflict ends when the battle does… I hope Daniel Cormier will also forgive me for anything he has ever spoken negatively about me. I do forgive him.”
