John Lineker isn’t the only one who is enthusiastic about horse racing: “When I’m in a fight, I get more nervous than usual.”

Published:

John Lineker, a former ONE bantamweight world champion, is back in the winner’s circle after defeating Kim Jae Woong via knockout in the final seconds of their fight on August 4 at ONE Fight Night 13 in order to return to the winners’ circle. Before that, ‘Hands of Stone’ had been defeated by a technical knockout at the hands of Fabricio Andrade in February of last year.

This thrilling victory allowed Lineker to keep his position as the top-ranked contender in the extremely competitive bantamweight class. Surprisingly, the heart-stopping and nerve-wracking fights that the ‘Hands of Stone’ has undergone throughout his life are not the most stressful situations that he has encountered.

The Brazilian knockout artist discussed his love for horse racing and the way that it makes him nervous whenever any of his horses compete in competitions in his most recent interview with ONE Championship. The conversation was conducted earlier this year.

The man, who is 33 years old, stated:

“Every time I look out and see my horses racing, I get a surge of excitement that I can’t even begin to describe. It makes me more anxious when they flee than when we engage in combat. It’s something that defies explanation!

Given that he has previously competed against the top bantamweight fighters in the world’s largest martial arts organization, including the likes of Kevin Belingon, Troy Worthen, Bibiano Fernandes, and Fabricio Andrade, this admission from Lineker comes as something of a surprise.

It was also a wonderful way to demonstrate that there is more to life than just competing within the circle for all combat sports athletes. This was a nice way to show that there is more to life than just competing inside the circle. It would appear that Lineker discovered his passion for horse racing. The representative of American Top Team is now training for a battle against the No. 2-ranked competitor Stephen Loman, which will take place in a short amount of time.

On September 29, at ONE Fight Night 14 inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the top two bantamweight contenders will compete against one another in a head-to-head matchup. The victor of this fight will almost certainly earn a direct shot at the current ONE bantamweight world champion, Fabricio Andrade.

Prime Video customers in North America may watch ONE Fight Night 14 at no additional cost.
