Jake Paul wants to face Nate Diaz next

For several months, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have hinted at a possible boxing showdown. The YouTuber-turned-boxer thinks the battle will take place sooner rather than later because the latter is now a free agent after leaving the UFC.

The social media star provided an update on the state of negotiations with the former UFC lightweight title contender during an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour:
“I believe they’re prepared. We’re going to schedule that one as soon as I finish Sunday. I believe that comes next. That’s who I want and what I believe the supporters want. There has been a lot of back and forth discussion, and now that everyone has had their say, it’s time to get to work.

In relation to the potential date of the fight as well as the specifics of the contest, Jake Paul added:

“I would say that it will probably be around mid-year, possibly over the summer… I want to do the one boxing and one mixed martial arts fight, but I’m not sure Nate’s team is totally on board with that yet or if they understand how serious I am about it. They probably assumed I was merely acting the part for publicity, but I’m a dead a**.”

Nate Diaz’s contract with the UFC will expire after UFC 279 in September 2022, although he has not yet made a decision regarding his future. This weekend, Paul will square off against Tommy Fury, the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Jake Paul issues final warning to Tommy Fury ahead of boxing match

The bout between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury is scheduled to take place this weekend after more than a year of teasers. Prior to the match, the former YouTube sensation issued a final caution to his adversary. Paul said in a video posted to Twitter: “Tommy, I hope you have enjoyed these final few days of your professional life. This is it; you’re retiring from boxing after this; your family will disown you; and you’ll revert to using your mother’s maiden name. There is no one else who can save you; it’s just us two, one on one. Your brother is no longer with you in the ring.”

Paul asserted that his goal in the ring is to “decapitate” his adversary. The former YouTube star’s boxing career will come to an end, according to Fury.
