Grapplers around the world are looking forward to seeing Tye Ruotolo compete in the middleweight division of the IBJJF.

Tye Ruotolo, an athlete competing in ONE Championship, has essentially given his twin brother Kade permission to continue dominating the lighter weight divisions while he focuses on taking on more formidable opponents in the future. The submission grappling sensation, who is only 20 years old, has been progressively bulking up while increasing strength, and soon, he will make his debut in the middleweight division of the IBJJF.

Ruotolo said in a recent post on his Instagram account that he is prepared to compete in the next weight class up:

“Within the past four years, I’ve competed twice for the IBJJF. My first competition in the lightweight division, both for my brown belt and my black belt. I have no idea how I got the second seed, but I’m feeling great and I’m getting set to make my debut at middleweight.

Just one month ago, Tye Ruotolo competed in a submission grappling bout against ONE middleweight world champion ‘The Dutch Knight’ Reinier de Ridder at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III that was shown on Prime Video.

The judge ultimately decided in favor of Ruotolo after the allotted amount of time had elapsed.
