Following his victory in the “Muay Thai Fight of the Century,” Superlek is optimistic that he will be able to preserve his kickboxing belt. He says, “Takeru is not better than Rodtang.”

The ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is certain that the spectacular Muay Thai fight he had against Rodtang Jitmuangnon adequately prepared him for his upcoming title fight against Takeru Segawa, who is a superstar from Japan. This fight is set to take place this next weekend.

In the main event of ONE 165: Superlek vs. Takeru, which will take place on Sunday, January 28, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, “The Kicking Machine” is scheduled to defend his world title against “The Natural Born Crusher.” this fight will be the headline event.

The Thai champion is heading into the fight on the heels of an astounding victory by unanimous decision over Rodtang, a fellow ONE superstar, in an intense three-round catchweight Muay Thai clash that took place back in September.

Superlek is certain that he is prepared to handle anything that Takeru would throw at him at ONE 165 on account of his previous experience. To the South China Morning Post, he disclosed the following:

“Although I have heard him say so, I do not believe that it has any impact on me in any way because, in my opinion, Takeru is not superior to Rodtang. In addition, I have prevailed over Rodtang. Therefore, I believe that he ought to concentrate more on the fight that is scheduled to take place on the 28th.

The global title that Superlek won a year ago will be defended by him for the second time at ONE 165, which will take place in Thailand. The first victory came in March of last year, winning by knockout in the third round against an opponent from Australia named Danial Williams.

Following a storied career at K-1, Takeru is currently competing in his first promotional bout. He signed with ONE last year as a much sought-after free agent after having a successful career at K-1.
