A comment has been made by Fernand Lopez, who coached Francis Ngannou in the past, regarding his impending bout against Tyson Fury, who is the current WBC boxing heavyweight champion. On October 28, 2023, MMA superstar Ngannou, who is also a former heavyweight champion of the UFC, is slated to make his debut in boxing versus Fury in a bout that will not be for a championship.
Ngannou received instruction from Lopez at the MMA Factory in Paris, France, early on in his career in mixed martial arts. A few years later, they went their separate ways, and in the aftermath of their conflict, they exchanged several barbs with one another.
Ciryl Gane, one of Lopez’s most notable students, competed against Francis Ngannou in a showdown for the unification of the UFC heavyweight title in January 2022. Gane was defeated by Ngannou through unanimous decision.

Lopez has been attempting to bury the hatchet with Ngannou. Lopez implied that ‘The Predator’ started from a lowly background, but rose to tremendous heights in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), and is now deserving of a boxing bout against the finest heavyweight boxer active today.
Despite the fact that Ngannou had never participated in a boxing match before, he insinuated that Ngannou’s achievements in mixed martial arts (MMA) and his brand value helped him get the fight against Fury.
