Fabricio Andrade’s ‘exceptional’ striking, according to Martin Nguyen, will make it easier for him to get into a rhythm against Jonathan Haggerty.

Fabricio Andrade will compete once again in the ring at ONE Fight Night 16 in the hopes of achieving another major victory in his professional MMA career.

Since the Brazilian martial artist signed with the company, he has been able to dominate the bantamweight class with his pinpoint accuracy and lethal threat on the offensive side of the ring.

At the beginning of this year, at ONE Fight Night 7, ‘Wonder Boy’ finally realized his dream of becoming a world champion by putting on a dominant performance against former kingpin John Lineker. This victory brought him one step closer to his ultimate goal.

Andrade is scheduled to return to action on November 3, but this time he’s going to push himself a little bit further than he’s ever gone before by competing in an all-striking matchup for the very first time under the ONE Championship banner.

As part of his quest to win world titles in two different sports, he has decided to challenge Jonathan Haggerty, who is the reigning world champion in the same weight class in Muay Thai. The matchup, which will take place for the unclaimed ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship, will pit two of the most dynamic strikers in the promotion against one another in a fight for the title.

Another member of the squad who has experience juggling numerous world championships at the same time is keeping a close eye on this competition in the hopes that it will provide a compelling duel. He believes that this matchup will produce an exciting showdown.

During an interview with ONE Championship, Martin Nguyen discussed Fabricio Andrade’s upcoming bouts under the ONE kickboxing system. He also discussed how he believes Andrade will be able to translate his mixed martial arts skills into this new field:

When it comes to striking, [Andrade] is among the very best. Therefore, I do not believe that the change will be particularly difficult or time-consuming at all.
Andrade’s track-record on the global stage leaves fans and fellow fighters with little question that he will be at home in a match-up of this magnitude. While Haggerty may have the experience advantage when it comes to battling against high-level attackers, Andrade has proven time and time again that he can hold his own on the biggest stages in the world.

ONE Fight Night 16 will be broadcast live and for free during primetime in the United States for viewers in North America who have a current membership to Amazon Prime Video.
