Fabricio Andrade casts doubt on Stephen Loman’s choice to engage in a potentially dangerous battle against John Lineker: “It’s up to him to decide,”

Published:

Fabricio Andrade does not hold Stephen Loman’s decision to hold off on getting a shot at the ONE bantamweight world championship against him against his better judgment.

When “The Sniper” makes his return to Singapore Indoor Stadium on September 29, he will put his position as the top contender for Andrade’s bantamweight gold on the line. Many people believe that Stephen Loman is the best candidate to challenge Andrade for the title. At ONE Fight Night 14, Loman will compete against John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker, a former world champion. The victor of this fight will almost certainly earn a shot at the ONE bantamweight world championship, which is currently held by Fabricio Andrade.

The most recent change of events left supporters somewhat perplexed because, by all accounts, Stephen Loman was well entrenched in the lead position for his first opportunity to win the ONE Championship.

Fabricio Andrade chose to accept a title vs. champion confrontation with Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 15 on October 6, leaving Loman with the option to either remain on the sidelines for an even longer period of time or take a fight and put his position on the risk.

Andrade told the South China Morning Post that he wouldn’t blame Loman for sitting out, but if ‘The Sniper’ wants to risk everything, that’s his decision.

“I believe that it is necessary for him to wait. You should know that he is next in line, but if you want to take a chance, take away his opportunity. It is up to him to decide. Andrade stated that it was fine if he waited.

There will be no question in anyone’s mind about Stephen Loman’s status as the next challenger for Fabricio Andrade’s bantamweight world title if he is successful in his bout against John Lineker. Loman will have demonstrated his superiority over Lineker with a victory. On the other hand, ‘The Sniper’ might take a significant step backwards if the fighter known as ‘Hands of Stone’ is victorious and adds another spectacular knockout worthy of a highlight reel to his record.

On September 29, 2018, at primetime in the United States, Amazon Prime Video users in North America will be able to watch Stephen Loman take on John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 14 for free and live. And don’t forget to tune in to ONE Fight Night 15 on October 6 to watch Fabricio Andrade battle fellow ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty as he makes his comeback to action.
