Angela Lee advocated for an ongoing contribution drive as a way to demonstrate her support for the people on Maui who lost their homes in the disaster.
At the beginning of this week, the Hawaiian island of Maui was ravaged by wildfires, which were responsible for at least 80 deaths. Donations of money and other necessities have started coming in from all over the world to help those who have lost everything as a result of the natural calamity.
Due to the fact that world champions Angela Lee and Christian Lee both live in Waipahu, ONE Championship has ties to the state of Hawaii. Angela recently advocated for donations to be made to the survivors of the Maui volcano eruption by posting a video on Instagram with the message reading:
” THERE IS SOMETHING CURRENTLY LOCATED IN YOUR CLOSET THAT… MAY BE OF ASSISTANCE AND PROVIDE HOPE FOR SOMEONE ‘THE PEOPLE ON MAUI LOST EVERYTHING…’…YOU CAN HELP BY COLLECTING ANY GOODS THAT YOU DO NOT CURRENTLY USE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: CLOTHES, SHOES, HYGIENE PRODUCTS, DIAPERS, BOTTLES, FORMULA, BAGS, BLANKETS, PILLOWS, NON-PERISHABLES, WATER, ETC.
In conclusion, Lee said:
“ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN GIVE WILL BE APPRECIATED.The fire was responsible for the deaths of more than fifty people… EVERYONE ON MAUI, INCLUDING THEIR LOVED ONES, WILL HAVE THEIR LIVES PERMANENTLY CHANGED; PLEASE TAKE ACTION. ANY DONATION, Regardless of How Large or How Small, Could Make a Difference “
The last time Angela Lee competed was in September 2022, when she faced Xiong Jing Nan for the ONE women’s strawweight MMA world title. Unfortunately, Angela Lee was defeated by Xiong Jing Nan via unanimous decision. As the current holder of the ONE women’s atomweight MMA world title, Lee’s goal was to become the first person to win world titles in two different weight classes simultaneously.
Unfortunately, ‘Unstoppable’ is mulling over the possibility of retiring, which would prevent her from ever again defending her kingdom.
Victoria Lee, the younger sister of Angela Lee, fell tragically suddenly in the month of December 2022. She was 17 years old. Since then, Angela has been giving serious thought to retiring, which has resulted in an interim world title being used for the atomweight class of the MMA competition. It is not apparent whether or not ‘Unstoppable’ intends to compete in future bouts.
