“Clickbait” on Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint Denis contract rumors has earned the ire of Dana White, who is a fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) media.

Published:

When it comes to the forthcoming fight between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Denis, Dana White has been very vocal in her criticism of the mixed martial arts (MMA) media. She has accused them of circulating incorrect allegations about the contractual status of the fight.

In the early hours of today, ‘The Diamond’ sparked a commotion in the mixed martial arts industry by announcing that the five-round lightweight co-main event that was scheduled to take place at UFC 299 vs Saint Denis had been canceled.

Brett Okamoto, a journalist who covers combat sports, reached out to the previous interim champion of the UFC 155-pound division, and the former champion responded with the following statement:

“There was no contractual agreement before the fight was announced, and we couldn’t come to terms.”

Nevertheless, it would appear that this is not the case, since Poirier tweeted a few moments later to address the confusion:

“I apologize to everyone, but I was a little too early. I was unable to get in touch with my manager for a few days. My conversation with him and Hunter just ended. I have a misunderstanding on my mind. Battle is begun! I’ll see you in Miami on March 9!!!”

In the meantime, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) voiced his severe discontent with the entire scenario and took an unconventional route by publicly releasing his text exchange with “God of War” on Instagram stories as evidence of the fight’s successful confirmation.

After that, White made a direct attack on Guilherme Cruz, a reporter for mixed martial arts, for spreading suspicions against him:

“You people in the media are such a bunch of total jerks. If you want to be first and not right, you should write as much clickbait as you can. All of this is the reason why NO ONE likes or trusts you.

Cruz released a video from a recent interview with Daniel Woirin, Saint Denis’ coach, in which he indicated that they were uninformed of the fight being confirmed when it was initially announced. This was in response to Poirier’s initial tweet, which stated that they were unaware of the fight being confirmed.

Brittney Palmer claims she got ghosted by Dana White following her retirement text

In a recent revelation, Brittney Palmer revealed that Dana White ignored her after she texted him about her retirement.

This role was held by the former UFC octagon girl from the time of UFC 125 in January 2011 to the time of UFC 296 in December of last year. After receiving the Ringcard Girl of the Year award at the 15th Annual Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts Awards, she made the announcement that she will be retiring.

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Palmer mentioned that the CEO of the UFC originally did not answer to her text message when she notified him of her retirement:

In fact, I had attempted to send him a text message in which I would explain what I was planning to do, but he did not respond to my message. It was not my intention to pursue him. I said to her, “Dana, I needed to talk to you for two minutes,” and she agreed. It was after Thanksgiving, and I simply believed that it would have been the appropriate thing to do to let him know that I was intending on leaving from my former position. Following the fact that I did not receive a response from him, I thought to myself, “Well, I guess he is going to have to find out at the award show.”
