The following comment was made by a user who goes by the name Cameron Atkinson in response to the whole situation:

“At this moment, I’d rather get into a battle with Craig Jones himself than with Rida. This individual possesses a level of athleticism and explosiveness that sets him apart from the majority of BJJ practitioners. To tell you the truth, it surprises me that the other person made it.

A look at Haisam Rida as a grappling phenom

As a student of Yuki Ishikawa who holds a black belt, Haisam Rida is widely regarded as one of the most promising up-and-coming grapplers in the sport of submission grappling. Rida was born in Accra, Ghana, but he relocated to Tokyo, Japan, with his parents when he was only 15 years old. Accra is now known as Rida City. ‘Giraffe’ began his training in jiu-jitsu in Tokyo under the instruction of Yamada Shigetaka, from whom he obtained all of his belts, ranging from white to brown.

In 2018, at the age of twenty-five, Rida earned his black belt from Yuki Ishikawa of Carpe Diem Academy in Tokyo. In 2016, Rida made the switch to Ishikawa’s training facility. At the moment, Haisam Rida can be found at B-Team Jiu-Jitsu, where he practices alongside Ethan Crelinsten, Nicky Rod, Nicky Ryan, and Craig Jones, who has won multiple medals at the ADCC.

His breakout performance occurred in the ADCC 2022, when he submitted Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abrieu with an arm-bar for a victory that stunned the competition. On the other hand, he was defeated by Roosevelt Sousa in the quarter-final match.

The official website for FloGrappling notes that Rida has competed in seventy bouts during his career as a professional grappler. In his professional grappling career, he has recorded 42 victories, 27 defeats, and one draw. During his career, he has defeated notable competitors like as ADCC gold medalist Giancarlo Bodoni, Orlando Sanchez, and the ‘Cyborg’ mentioned earlier.
