Liam Harrison has been making slow but steady progress toward recovery since he sustained a life-threatening injury a year ago.
The medical professionals that he contacted advised him to postpone his comeback plans further back in time, despite the fact that he had initially intended to be back inside the circle by the end of 2023.
When the ‘Hitman’ does eventually make his way back to the ring, ONE Championship already has some ambitious goals in mind for him to accomplish.
The company ONE Fight Night is going to host its very first ever special-rules striking competition this coming weekend at ONE Fight Night 14. ‘The Panda’ Xiong Jing Nan and Nat ‘Wondergirl’ Jaroonsak will compete against one another in a striking match using four-ounce MMA gloves. It will be an exciting event to see.
After the conclusion of ONE Friday Fights 34, Chatri Sityodtong gave an interview to the South China Morning Post Martial Arts on YouTube. During the course of this interview, he discussed how the concept came about for Liam Harrison to compete against John Lineker using the same specific ruleset and how this notion came about in the first place:
“They actually accepted the battle, but Liam ended up being unable to participate due to the doctor’s orders. So, yeah, I think that’s a possibility for the month of January. I have no idea when, but I can assure you that we are continually pushing the limits and innovating.”
In addition, Sityodtong said:
“And the following week, we will have our first battle under the specific regulations for striking once more. To a large extent, it consists of boxing or dirty boxing, correct?
