Chael Sonnen questions authenticity of Jiri Prochazka’s  shoulder injury, brings up USADA testing history

Recently, Chael Sonnen stated that he wasn’t sure Jiri Prochazka had an actual injury, and he gave the absence of a shoulder sling as the reason for his doubts. Prochazka’s prior USADA doping test results and his decision to give up the light heavyweight title following the injury were also brought up by “The American Gangster.”

With a staggering 62 samples submitted in 2022, “Denisa” was discovered to be the athlete who has undergone the most testing by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) across all sports. Due to a shoulder injury sustained during training, Prochazka was forced to withdraw from his championship defence against Glover Teixeira at UFC 282 later that same year.

Chael Sonnen is dubious of the circumstances surrounding the injury, though, given that the Czech native later gave up the championship to avoid impeding the division’s development. In a recent video, Sonnen cited Prochazka’s reaction to Hill winning the title and said:

“I simply cannot avoid noticing that there is no sling. A shoulder so painful that they removed the man’s belt before continuing… That is not going to need a neoprene sleeve? … I have to admit that this is a little strange. We were informed that a man who had undergone a record number of USADA drug tests suddenly showed up with a shoulder injury that didn’t even call for bandages?”

Jiri Prochazka congratulates Jamahal Hill with chilling video

Jamahal Hill recently received congratulations from Jiri Prochazka for winning the light heavyweight championship by a resounding decision against Glover Teixeira at UFC 283.

Soon after Hill’s hand was raised at the conclusion of five testing rounds, Prochazka posted a video on Instagram praising Jamahal Hill and chillingly foreshadowing his return in “Sweet Dreams.”

Snow is falling all around the “Czech Samurai,” who is spotted in the woods surrounded by trees. The current light heavyweight champion was congratulated by Prochazka before receiving a threatening warning. He declared:

Although Jiri Prochazka’s return to action has not been officially confirmed, “Denisa” has maintained that he will do so within a few months, which suggests that he might participate in Hill’s maiden title defence later in 2023.
