Australian superstar Because of the all-or-nothing approach that he takes to training and competing, Alex Roberts has had a number of injuries throughout the course of his career.
“The Viking” will make his debut in ONE Championship as the headlining act of an all-Mauy Thai event at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok. He will strive to bring the same level of intensity that he has brought to other fights across the world. First things first, however, Roberts had a conversation with ONE Championship about his expertise in the art of eight limbs as well as the numerous injuries he has sustained along the road.
“Well, I’ve pretty much injured everything there is to injure on the body before, just because I’m pretty much a “all or nothing” kind of guy,” Roberts said. “I’ve been injured in some pretty serious ways.” We put in a lot of effort in both our training and our fights if we want to accomplish anything and do it in the right way.And that just sort of leads to the injury sometimes because I do too much, and at that point in time, I actually have a lot of injuries.
Alex Roberts will compete against Roman Kryklia, a knockout artist from Ukraine, and the winner will take the title of ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion. The fight will take place in The Land of Smiles.
Alex Roberts will try to carry his momentum into ONE Fight Night 17
Following his victory in the WBC heavyweight Muay Thai world championship, Alex Roberts is into his first fight for ONE Championship with a great deal of strength and confidence. The triumph over the British superstar Lyndon Knowles, which was a hard-fought battle, took place on October 14. This opportunity presented itself to him this past Friday night as a direct result of that triumph, which attracted the attention of ONE Championship officials.
The fact that Roberts has only been training in Muay Thai for a decade is maybe even more astounding than the fact that he has already made his presence known by defeating opponents who have a great deal more experience than he does.
When he faces Roman Kryklia, one of the most dangerous strikers in ONE Championship and the current light heavyweight kickboxing world champion, in the main event of ONE Fight Night 17, he will be looking to accomplish precisely that.
