On the 20th of April, Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia are scheduled to compete against one another for the WBC super lightweight championship.
After a period of back-and-forth negotiations, the two fighters have just recently inked their bout deal. Haney and Garcia both continue to lead from the front by producing matches that people want to watch, which is something that boxing has failed to do for decades.
Haney secured the WBC title with a remarkable performance over Regis Prograis in 2023, and “The Dream” will be defending his title for the first time when he fights Garcia. Haney’s previous defense was against Regis Prograis.
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of the WBC champion, was recently interviewed by Seconds Out, and over the course of the conversation, he was asked to communicate his feelings regarding the fight. This is what he said:
“What a terrific fight! This battle is excellent for Devin, and it is also perfect for DAZN. Outstanding performance by Ryan Garcia. Congratulations to each of you! These two incredible teenage fighters are putting their lives on the line. A major night is coming up on April 20th, and we are looking forward to it.
Upon being asked to provide his prediction for the upcoming fight night, Hearn responded as follows:
Ryan Garcia sends a strong message to Devin Haney after the fight announcement
In a bout that is sure to be highly anticipated, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney are scheduled to square off in the ring later on in this year.
The two boxers have competed against one another six times in the past, all of which were in the amateur divisions, and each of them has three wins to their credit.
In April of 2023, Garcia was defeated by Gervonta Davis, which was the first time in his professional career that he had ever been defeated. After that, he made a comeback by winning a technical knockout fight against Oscar Duarte later in the year, despite the fact that the outcome was surrounded by controversy.
The movie “The Dream,” on the other hand, managed to keep his spotless record intact until the year 2023. After defending his undisputed lightweight titles by way of a unanimous decision against Vasily Lomachenko, he went on to become the WBC super lightweight champion by defeating Regis Prograis in a manner that created a new record.
same the official announcement of the fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia, ‘KingRy’ took to Instagram to offer something along the same lines:
The twenty-first of April “Garciavshaney – Game 7 Everything can be done with this one… Now, Devin, it is important. I am putting everything on the line in this war. This is what I meant when I addressed the PBD podcast with the phrase “I’m coming back for everything in Blood.” I would want to request that you all pray for Devin and his health. May his father put an end to this argument. In the event that this conflict is not ended at the appropriate time, it will be necessary to carry him out.
