In spite of looks to the contrary, ‘Mighty Mouse’ Demetrious Johnson and Aljamain Sterling do not have any animosity toward one another.
following bumping into each other in a parking lot in Las Vegas, the two MMA superstars recently posed for a selfie together following the chance encounter. Laughing uncontrollably, the former bantamweight champion of the UFC accompanied the picture with a funny message that read:
“Baaaaaa! ” Came face to face with the Flyweight GOAT! It was a pleasure chatting with you, my brother, about mixed martial arts (MMA), training, and business opportunities.
On the Saturday before ‘Funk Master’ Sterling agreed to hand over his bantamweight championship to Sean O’Malley, Demetrious Johnson admitted that he had a strong desire to compete against Sterling.
In light of the fact that Johnson’s subsequent bout in the ONE Championship is still ‘under construction,’ the ONE flyweight MMA world champion has stated that he is eager to take on new and different challenges in order to fill the hole.
As soon as ‘Mighty Mouse’ heard about Johnson’s call out during a gym question and answer session, he answered to Aljamain Sterling by stating, “I think father time has passed him a little bit.” Sterling was referring to Johnson.
In spite of Sterling’s response, Johnson stated in an interview with The MMA Hour that he would want to have a friendly sparring session with Sterling inside the gym if they are unable to schedule an official bout:
Let’s have a game of sparring… Come fight with me, and I’ll do my best to take you down. That is fantastic. Move about and show me how you normally go about your business.
