According to Tye Ruotolo, gaining knowledge of Muay Thai in the very center of Thailand was a whole new experience: “I’m literally sweating bullets right now.”

As early as the age of 20, Tye Ruotolo had already achieved the rank of black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, suggesting that he may have been a prodigy in the sport. Muay Thai training, on the other hand, is a completely unique experience compared to the more mild discipline of jiu-jitsu, as the athlete who has never lost in the ONE Championships revealed.

The American explained that in between his grappling workouts, he’s been experimenting with the art of eight limbs on occasion. He said that it’s a lot of fun. Even though he has quite a bit of experience practicing it in the United States, Ruotolo noted that studying it from its motherland has made him more frightened than it has ever made him before, particularly from the top coaches from Thailand.

During his most recent interview with The MMA Superfan, the spokesperson from Atos disclosed this information and stated:

“I’ll be honest with you, I did some Muay Thai back home, you know in California, but it’s completely different going to the roots and going to the source,” he said. “I’m not going to lie.” I can still picture my manager looking over. When he looked over, he saw that trainer Gae had me on my toes with only one foot, you know super high up, and he was holding my other leg in his hand and he was just making me balance on my toes, and I was just sweating bullets curling, you know and I was like, ‘Dude put my leg down!’ and he was like, ‘No, you’re not getting it.’ He was hitting the mitts with one of the

When Tye and his twin brother Kade traveled to Thailand, they took advantage of the opportunity to train with Gae, a world-famous Muay Thai trainer, who was part of the Singha Mawynn Muay Thai team. The fact that the 20-year-old has seen Superbon put in a lot of work in preparation for the forthcoming bout with Tawanchai is another reason why he is rooting for Superbon to win. Tawanchai is Superbon’s next opponent.

Mikey Musumeci, another ONE Championship submission grappling world champion, has also started training in Muay Thai alongside the Ruotolo brothers. Since arriving to Thailand at the beginning of this year, ‘Darth Rigatoni’ has been taking classes taught by Rodtang, the current holder of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship.

The welterweight submission grappling world title fight between Tye and Magomed Abdulkadirov will take place on November 3 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, as the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video. Tye is currently in the final phase of his preparations for the fight.

The entire event will be broadcast live and for free on US Primetime for Prime Video members in North America who are already enrolled in the service.
