According to Mikey Musumeci, the competition between Danielle Kelly and Tammi Musumeci “makes perfect sense.”

Mikey Musumeci, the reigning world champion in flyweight submission grappling for ONE Championship, is of the opinion that his sister, Tammi Musumeci, should be given the opportunity to compete for the newly-won ONE title held by Danielle Kelly.

In September, Kelly carved her name into the history books by becoming the first-ever atomweight submission grappling world champion. She did this by recording a convincing unanimous decision victory against a former opponent named Jessa Khan as part of a loaded ONE Fight Night 14 lineup that took place at the illustrious Singapore Indoor Stadium.

BJJ fans instantly began to wonder about who may truly fight Danielle Kelly inside the Circle after she was undefeated in her previous four competitions in a row.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Mikey Musumeci expressed his conviction that he is aware of the appropriate individual.

“Well, my sister has two wins over Danielle,” Musumeci stated as she compared the two of them. “I submitted her both times, and I believe that weight class is the same one that my sister competed in and won her most recent two fights in, right? Therefore, wouldn’t it answer just about all of your questions?”

Tammi Musumeci, who holds five BJJ world titles, made her promotional debut earlier this year, and she won a closely contested match against Bianca Basilio, who is a champion in both the ADCC and the IBJJF. She followed that up with another strong performance against Amanda ‘Tubby’ Alequin at ONE Fight Night 12 in July.

Tammi Musumeci appears to be the most natural choice for Danielle Kelly’s next opponent, what with her recent string of triumphs, not to mention the fact that she has already prevailed over Kelly in their previous encounters, which took place under the WNO banner more than two years ago.

Mikey Musumeci is coming off an excellent victory against Shinya Aoki, a legendary figure in Japanese mixed martial arts, at ONE Fight Night 15. Meanwhile, Tammi Musumeci is continuing her pursuit of an opportunity to compete for a ONE world title.

‘Darth Rigatoni’ improved his record to 6-0 inside the Circle by submitting ‘Tobikan Judan’ just past the three-minute mark of their openweight submission grappling superfight. This victory cemented ‘Darth Rigatoni’s position as one of the most accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioners in the world at this time.

In North America, you can watch the replay of ONE Fight Night 15 whenever you want, on demand, with Amazon Prime Video. This is convenient if you wanted to catch up on any of the action but didn’t get a chance to, or if you simply want to remember an unforgettable night in the history of ONE Championship.
