According to Jonathan Haggerty, the relocation of the training camp to Thailand has already been profitable: “It was a significant factor in the most recent fight I had.”

Jonathan Haggerty, a famous boxer from the United Kingdom, made a courageous decision earlier this year when he chose to forgo the conveniences of training in the United Kingdom in favor of completing the majority of his preparation in Thailand.

This gamble paid off in a huge way when he shocked the world and dethroned the seemingly unbeatable Nong-O Hama to become the new ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king at ONE Fight Night 9 in April of last year. This victory earned him the title of king of the ONE bantamweight division in Muay Thai.

Haggerty, not being the type of man to fix something that isn’t broken, made the executive decision to go with his quest for a second golden strap on his shoulders using the same tactic as before.

“The General” has once more established his headquarters in “The Land of Smiles” in preparation for the upcoming battle that will take place on the sacred grounds of Lumpinee Stadium.

In the main event of ONE Fight Night 16, which will take place on November 3, Haggerty will compete against Fabricio Andrade, the current holder of the ONE bantamweight MMA world championship, in a five-round striking masterclass for the purpose of winning the unclaimed ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title.

Haggerty has just one week remaining before he makes his attempt for two-sport supremacy, and he recently spoke with ONE Championship about the significance of acclimating to Thailand’s environment as quickly as is humanly possible.

Since we are going to be battling in Thailand, we are currently training in Thailand. That is going to be a significant factor. It was a significant factor in my most recent bout, and as a result, I decided to relocate to Thailand for the duration of my remaining battles in this region.

Haggerty was able to hone his already lethal Muay Thai arsenal because to his extended stay in Thailand, which not only helped him adjust to the country’s hot and humid atmosphere but also allowed him to learn the technique directly from its originators. We have seen it work wonders for him thus far, as evidenced by his spectacular knockout of the famous Nong-O in the first round.

When he finally goes to blows with Fabricio Andrade, we will find out very shortly whether or not this strategy will enable ‘The General’ to win once again.

Existing Prime Video customers in North America will not be charged extra to watch ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video because it will be broadcast live during US Primetime.
