According to Demetrious Johnson, achieving equilibrium will play a role in his choice to retire in the future.

Demetrious Johnson, the current world champion of the ONE flyweight division, has the same philosophy as Thanos, which is that everything should be in a state of perfect equilibrium.

This includes striking the ideal balance between his professional and personal life, as he is a dedicated father to three amazing children while simultaneously holding the distinction of being one of the best mixed martial arts fighters in the history of the sport.

However, now that “Mighty Mouse” has pretty much accomplished everything that can be achieved in his illustrious career, he is finding that the idea of retiring and spending more time with his family is becoming increasingly appealing to him.

As a result of this, the legend, who is now 36 years old, is currently confronted with a moral conundrum, as the competitor within him still wants to keep going and face the challenges that lie ahead.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, ‘DJ’ addressed these concerns by saying the following:

“As a competitor, absolutely I want to battle every single person in the entire fucking division, right? However, a competitor does not simply disappear into the horizon while engaging in a variety of activities. They continue to engage in violent conflict with one another. You are aware that this is what you possess. You absolutely must maintain that equilibrium.”

‘DJ’ is not going to slow down anytime soon, judging by his flawless performance against his adversary Adriano Moraes at ONE Fight Night 10 earlier this month.

The AMC Pankration and Evolve MMA affiliate successfully executed a flawless game plan to defeat ‘Mikinho’ in the third and final bout of their trilogy, so enabling him to keep his 26 pounds of gold.

Despite the jaw-dropping performance in the circle, Johnson still hasn’t shaken the nagging feeling that he should investigate other possible paths.

Do you believe that Demetrious Johnson will experience the desire to revive his career, which deserves to be in the Hall of Fame? Time is the only thing that can tell, at least for the time being.

In the interim, Prime Video users in North America can relive Johnson’s final performance at ONE Fight Night 10 at no additional cost. This event is now available to Prime Video subscribers.
