When up-and-coming boxing star Anna Jaroonsak competes inside the venerable Lumpinee Boxing Stadium this coming Friday, she will face an opponent who is brand new to the scene.
‘Supergirl’ will now compete in a kickboxing competition against Spanish striker Lara Fernandez at ONE Fight Night 13. This is because ‘Supergirl’s’ initial opponent, Cristina Morales, bowed out of the fight after announcing that she was expecting a child.
On their Instagram account, ONE Championship Thailand made the following announcement:
“Lara Fernandez has accepted the challenge, and she will compete against Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak because Cristina Morales was forced to pull out of the competition.”
The 19-year-old player known as “Supergirl” almost dominated the Thai local scene and took the same level of passion with her when she made her debut in the major leagues in 2020.
The instant she entered the Circle, the Thai star was on fire, as she quickly won both of her matches against Milagros Lopez and Ekaterina Vandaryeva to string together two consecutive victories.
In her most recent bout, which took place in January of this year, Jaroonsak fought former two-time world champion Stamp Fairtex to a full three rounds.
At ONE Fight Night 6, Stamp and ‘Supergirl’ put on a spectacle that was nothing short of spectacular. However, the Fairtex star emerged victorious in the end, claiming the split decision victory as well as the $50,000 prize.
The performance that ‘Supergirl’ gave, on the other hand, left such an impression on the audience that the CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, made the decision to give her a bonus of $50,000 just one week later.
In the meantime, Fernandez is widely regarded as one of the most productive attackers to emerge from Spain in the current age.
“Pizza Power” is a former world champion in both ISKA Kickboxing and WBC Muay Thai. He won both titles twice.
All Prime Video customers in North America have access to the live stream of the kickboxing battle between ‘Supergirl’ and Fernandez, as well as the entirety of the ONE Fight Night 13 event, at no additional cost.
