Norwegian BJJ blackbelt At ONE Fight Night 11, Tommy Langaker will compete against Kade Ruotolo, who holds the record for being the youngest person to win the ADCC world championship. This will be the biggest match in Tommy Langaker’s career. This will be Langaker’s first opportunity to compete for a global championship title, as the fight will be for the lightweight submission grappling world title held by Ruotolo of ONE.

Last year, Tommy Langaker made a remarkable debut in ONE Championship by defeating Renato Canuto via unanimous decision. Canuto was a multiple-time IBJJF world champion. In addition, the Norwegian grappler was awarded a performance bonus of $50,000 from ONE for their victory.

We witnessed Langaker explain down his now-famous back-take on Canuto in a post that was just published on Instagram by jiu-jitsu practitioner and stand-up comedian Bobby Sandhu. It was deft and devious, and most certainly something you will want to begin practicing in the weight room:

Tommy Langaker took his opponent’s back easily by using a leglock entry as a smoke screen before going for the takedown. Because of the relatively recent proliferation of leglocks, practically everyone at this point employs some form of leg assault. However, making use of them as a means to discover new pathways to achieve a dominant position is unquestionably advantageous.

Following his victory, Tommy Langaker entered the 2022 ADCC world championship, however he was eliminated before the medal rounds and did not place. His comeback included a return to the ONE Championship at ONE Fight Night 7, when he defeated Uali Kurzhev via heel hook submission. Kurzhev had previously been a challenger for the ONE lightweight submission grappling world title. The grappler from Norway earned his second performance bonus from ONE thanks to the victory.

At ONE Fight Night 11, he will compete against Kade Ruotolo, who is widely considered to be the most dangerous grappler in the organization. The global champion, who is only 20 years old, has a perfect record in this promotion, going 3-0 while winning one world title and successfully defending another. In addition to this, he triumphed over Langaker in the ADCC world championship, taking home the gold medal, and finished out 2022 by being named the Submission Grappling Athlete of the Year by ONE Championship.

On June 9, ONE Fight Night 11 will be held in the illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, and it will be streamed live online. All Prime Video subscribers in North America will have access to the live broadcast of the event at no additional cost.
