Kade Ruotolo, an American phenom who competes in the sport of submission grappling, is enjoying all of the success he has been having lately, but he is the first to say that none of it would have been possible without the people mentoring him, most notably Andre Galvao, his mentor.

Atos Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego, California, led by Galvao, who also competes in ONE Championship, is where the current lightweight submission grappling world champion is continuing to hone his talents. He is the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion.

In the sport of grappling, Kade Ruotolo has achieved a great deal of success while working alongside Galvao and his staff. The fighter, who is only 20 years old, also won the 77 kilogram division of the 2022 ADCC World Championship in addition to the lightweight world title strap held by ONE Championship.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Kade Ruotolo discussed the nature of his friendship with the Brazilian jiu-jitsu icon Andre Galvao as well as the influence that Galvao has had on the development of his own successful professional jiu-jitsu career.

He said:

“[Andre Galvao] still talks to everyone the same way he always has, and there’s a big smile for each and every one of them. Consequently, considering the fact that everyone always has positive things to say about him and the manner in which he influences other individuals. You know, I’d like to do the same thing if I could.
The previous year saw Kade Ruotolo and his twin brother Tye become members of ONE Championship (ONE), where they have since established themselves as prominent figures in the submission grappling division.

To this point, he has participated in three bouts, all of which he has won in resounding fashion. The most notable of these victories came in October when he submitted the Russian Uali Kurzhev using a heel hook. As a result of this victory, he was awarded the title of ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion. A performance incentive of $50,000 was awarded to him as a result of his excellent triumph.

In his next bout, which will take place on June 9 at ONE Fight Night 11 and be broadcast on Prime Video, Kade Ruotolo will defend his ONE Lightweight World Championship against Norwegian opponent Tommy Langaker.

The illustrious Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok will play host to ONE Fight Night 11, which will take place there. Fans in North America who have an active subscription to Amazon Prime Video will be able to watch it live and without charge.
