Conor McGregor gives one-emoji reaction to Michael Chandler’s “Mystic Mike” prediction of their fight

Published:

Michael Chandler will face Conor McGregor when he eventually makes a comeback to the octagon, but the exact date has not yet been revealed. The Notorious and Iron will serve as competing coaches on the forthcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, Dana White has stated.

Chandler made a bold “Mystic Mike” prediction: a second-round victory, when weighing in on his booking vs McGregor. A fight-ending shot will be delivered in the second round thanks to the former Bellator champion’s strategy of applying pressure from the opening bell and wearing down his opponent.

“In the second round, I think I defeat Conor. Later this year, whenever it is, that will be my “Mystic Mike” perspective on this.
Chandler’s comments were hilariously answered by Conor McGregor with a single laughing emoticon.
Additionally, Chandler stated that a left hook or an overhand right would be his go-to knockout blows:

“I always picture a powerful left or right hook. That’s the one I genuinely want to make every time; it’s the shot I’ve seen knock players out countless times throughout my career, knock guys out in practise, and knock them out countless times in my thoughts.”

Michael Chandler hopes Conor McGregor doesn’t cross certain boundaries with his trash talk

Unquestionably, Conor McGregor is among the best name-callers in the annals of combat sports. As we saw with Jose Aldo, the Dubliner has even successfully exploited his knack for oratory to emotionally wear down his opponents.

But when ‘The Notorious’ loses, as he did against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier, trash talk by McGregor frequently crosses moral lines and loses much of its attraction. Fans took issue with the former UFC double champion’s offensive comments against Poirier’s wife and family.

In the run-up to their battle, Michael Chandler hopes Conor McGregor won’t cross the same lines. Moreover, he said to ESPN MMA:

“There is a line that you never, ever cross. There is a line that you certainly don’t cross when a guy has a wife, kids, and family. Conor might be tempted to break that boundary with me if he hears me say it in an interview, which is harder for me to believe. We shall see.
