Recently, there has been conflict between Terrance McKinney and the sports and pop culture blog Barstool Sports. Terrance McKinney alleged on social media that the platform’s journalists were ignorant in mixed martial arts (MMA) before to his fight with Ismael Bonfim at UFC 283.
After losing to Bonfim in a knockout, McKinney received vicious ridicule. The most of the remarks didn’t bother him, but one in particular made him feel insulted, so he replied angrily. By using the lightweight competitor McKinney’s remarks against him, Barstool Sports attempted to add salt to the wounds.
The website has recently come under fire from American football outside linebacker Micah Aaron Parsons for employing emotive trigger phrases in their headlines. Following the Cowboys linebacker’s earlier revelation of his connection with Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson, the news stories surfaced. In order to respect the NFC East, Parsons has come under fire for being unduly loud about his wish to see the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
The worst is a bar stool. Every journalist, anchor, and writer there believes they are superior to the athletes they cover. Isn’t that absurd? By critiquing those who can, they cover sports they could never perform and turn us into memes for financial gain.”
This prompted Robbie Fox to respond, and what followed was a full-fledged Twitter spat between the two:
Yes, that is Barstool, which boasts that its players are “better than the athletes we cover” without any hint of self-pity.”
Both McKinney and Fox have since tweeted that everything is well between them, indicating that the protracted Twitter argument appears to have been resolved.
Terrance McKinney claims it was an honor to fight Ismael Bonfim at UFC 283
At UFC 283, Ismael Bonfim made his promotional debut and stunned Terrance McKinney with a stunning flying knee during the preliminary bout.
Everyone was impressed by Bonfim’s great debut, including UFC colour commentator Joe Rogan. Bonfim is a graduate of Dana White’s Contender Series. In a current episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast host and Paul Felder also spoke about the outcome and Bonfim’s debut.
After taking some time to process his defeat and collect his thoughts, Terrance McKinney expressed graciousness in loss and said it was an honour to compete alongside Bonfim:
“It always surprises me when I’m listening to anything and these two mention me in a chat because I usually announce I’m a fan first. It was an honour to battle beside Bonfim, and I’ll be back.”
