Lito Adiwang is confident that his old teammate Joshua Pacio would bring the battle to Jarred Brooks in Qatar. “I see him attacking,” Adiwang said referring to Pacio.

It is Lito Adiwang’s firm belief that Joshua Pacio, a former teammate of his, possesses the capabilities necessary to turn the tables on Jarred Brooks when they meet each other for the second time.

When Pacio competes against Brooks in the co-main event of ONE 166, which will take place on March 1 at Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar, he will have the opportunity to reclaim the ONE strawweight mixed martial arts world title.

In December 2022, the two best strawweights on the earth squared off against each other in a heated world title showdown. The result of this matchup was that Brooks emerged victorious and became the ONE strawweight MMA world champion.

During an interview with ONE Championship, Adiwang stated that his former Team Lakay partner was on the defense for a significant portion of the match, which prevented Pacio from utilizing his signature dizzying offense.

In spite of this, Adiwang is confident that the former strawweight MMA champion would be victorious this time around in Qatar.

According to Lito Adiwang:

It has been demonstrated that he is able to defend Jared’s wrestling. It seems to me that he was unable to defend himself. Now I saw him launching an assault.”
At ONE Fight Night 15, Pacio won by unanimous decision after dominating Russian star Mansur Malachiev. This victory gave him the opportunity to compete for his former world title.

In the year 2023, Pacio and Adiwang parted ways with the renowned Team Lakay and joined separate gyms, despite the fact that they had been comrades for nearly half a decade.

While Adiwang has completely departed the Philippines and is now training with Soma Fight Club in Bali, Indonesia, Pacio relocated to Baguio City and joined the newly established Lions Nation Mixed Martial Arts organization.

Lito Adiwang ready for a firefight against Danial Williams

In spite of the fact that Lito Adiwang is keeping a careful eye on his old friend’s upcoming fight, he is also getting ready for a fight of his own.

On this coming Friday, February 16, Adiwang will compete against Danial Williams, a Thai-Australian superstar, at ONE Fight Night 19, which will take place at the famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Although “Thunder Kid” will be looking to extend his winning streak to three fights, he is aware that a fight against Williams will be just as challenging as any other fight in the ONE Championship roster.

Adiwang stated the following in the same interview:

“He might be harmful. You should not overlook him as a potential candidate. I simply need to go past that and have confidence in myself. “I have to convince myself that I am improving.”
Prime Video users in North America will be able to see ONE Fight Night 19, which is the second Amazon card that ONE Championship has released this year. The event will be shown live and will be free of charge.
