To a large extent, Belal Muhammad’s fellow combatants have adopted a position on the Israel-Palestine conflict that is comparable to his own. Belal Muhammad to serve as a back-up fighter for UFC 296 main event

At the UFC 296 pay-per-view event that is planned to take place on December 16, 2023, the reigning welterweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Leon Edwards, will give Colby Covington his second opportunity to defend his championship. Belal Muhammad has confirmed that he will weigh in as a backup fighter in the event that Edwards or Covington are forced to withdraw from the fight due to unforeseen circumstances. This confirmation was made during a recent interview with MMA Junkie.

It was just on Friday that they contacted me and asked if I would be willing to weigh in for the following weekend. I believe that they are aware of the fact that Colby and Leon are the two welterweights who are the least active in the division. Both of these gentlemen are not much of a fighter. They both have a strong running ability. Therefore, in order to be on the safe side, they decided to phone the guy who usually comes through for them.

Muhammad disclosed that he has been working out in order to maintain his physical fitness in the event that the opportunity presents itself. He is now rated third in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and ever since he defeat Gilbert Burns at UFC 288, he has been demanding a shot at the championship.

Ali Abdelaziz, Muhammad’s manager, recently stated in an interview with MMA Fighting that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has assured Muhammad that he will receive the next title shot.
