Filipino bantamweight contender Stephen Loman feels that defeating Brazilian great John Lineker in their forthcoming bout would serve as more of a confirmation that he belongs in the big league than simply keeping his perfect record in ONE Championship. Loman believes that a win over Lineker will demonstrate that he is worthy of competing at the highest level.
On September 29 in Singapore, ‘The Sniper’ will compete against ‘Hands of Stone’ in a featured bantamweight mixed martial arts bout at ONE Fight Night 14, which will be broadcast on Prime Video.
Stephen Loman is seeking to extend his winning run to three fights in order to bolster his position as a contender in the division, which is presently dominated by Fabricio Andrade.
In an interview with The MMA Superfan, the veteran of Team Lakay gave his thoughts on what he believes to be a dream fight against the former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker as well as what it would mean for him to win the fight in the event that it takes place.
In his words:
If I am successful in defeating him, it will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am a high-level fighter. I am certain that I am able to compete successfully at this level against a fighter of his caliber.

The most recent victory for Stephen Loman occurred in November of last year when he defeated Bibiano Fernandes in a fight that was decided by unanimous decision.
His two prior victories were against a Russian named Yusup Saadulaev and a Japanese named Shoko Sato, both of whom he defeated through technical knockout in the first round.
Stephen Loman is now preparing for the next competition in his home base in Baguio, Philippines. He is focusing on improving all aspects of his game in order to provide a successful showing.
In the meanwhile, John Lineker is hoping to get back on track after suffering a knockout loss to Andrade in February for the vacant bantamweight world title. The fight was stopped in the fourth round due to a technical knockout by the corner.
The fourteenth installment of ONE Fight Night will take place in the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and Prime Video customers in North America will be able to watch it live and without charge.
