Stamp Fairtex will have her second opportunity to win the Mixed Martial Arts world championship at ONE Fight Night 14.
This ambition has been on the mind of the elite striker for some time now as she competes in ONE Championship with the intention of making history.
The Thai boxer rose to prominence after winning the atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai divisions of the organization established in Singapore and being the first person to win the world championship in both of those fighting styles.
After that, the young woman, who is now 25 years old, shifted her focus to the accomplishment of another objective, which was to win a world championship in a third distinct ruleset in order to position herself as the face of the promotion.
After failing to accomplish this goal the first time around, she will have another opportunity on September 29 to try again and maybe succeed this time.
She will go into the fight against Ham Seo Hee for the interim atomweight world championship hoping to finally win the belt that she has been after for the past few years.
Stamp was unable to retain either of her atomweight world championships in the striking disciplines while she was training for mixed martial arts. After a brief absence, she just won her way back into the divisions by claiming victory over Supergirl Jaroonsak earlier this year.
In her previous and final Muay Thai battle, which took place in August 2020 against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, she put her championship on the line. Unfortunately, she was defeated in that fight by a majority decision.
Stamp disclosed this information about Rodrigues in a question and answer video that was recently published on the YouTube account belonging to Fairtex Gym. Stamp stated that Rodrigues is the opponent who has hit her the hardest inside the ring.
“Allycia Rodrigues [is the player with the most powerful hits. When I lost my belt, the buckle on my nose broke, and the one on my face broke, too.”
