Conor McGregor, a UFC star, blocked Irishman David Ennis on Twitter after the latter criticised “The Notorious” for organising a campaign to bring Katie Taylor’s rematch with Amanda Serrano, the women’s undisputed lightweight champion, to Croke Park Stadium in Dublin on May 20.
Taylor was recently mentioned in a tweet by UFC superstar Ennis, who called him a leach in response:
The women’s soccer coach does not appear to have been discouraged by being blocked on social media by the MMA megastar, though. Ennis referred to McGregor’s blocking him as a “Win” in a following tweet:
Taylor’s rematch with undisputed women’s featherweight boxing champion Amanda Serrano would be sponsored by Conor McGregor, who recently made the offer.
Eddie Hearn, the event’s organiser, seems to have been deterred from renting the Gaelic Games Stadium for the boxing mega match after ‘The Notorious’ volunteered to step in.
However, Hearn recently told RTE that it seemed unlikely that the “Bray Bomber” will compete at Croke Park Stadium in May following their meeting on Monday.
“We discussed the figures, price, and timeline… I do believe it is feasible for us that May 20 will take place in the 3Arena. But I do believe that a fight in a stadium will be similar. But we also want to collaborate to figure out how to make it happen at a large stadium. [Transcripts via talkSport] “
Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will coach The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) in the upcoming season, and they will face off in the octagon in the season finale.
Opening odds for Conor McGregor’s return fight with Michael Chandler
The highly anticipated UFC comeback fight between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor opens with an even matchup. The Irishman’s leg injury sustained during his UFC 264 trilogy match against Dustin Poirier has kept him out of action since July 2021.
Both guys have started at -110 according to the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. This indicates that if the fight is won, a $1000 gamble on either man will result in a payout of $1,909.09.
In the UFC, Conor McGregor is not presently ranked. At UFC 246 in 2020, he defeated the since-retired Donald Cerrone to earn his final victory. Since then, the Irishman has fallen to Dustin Poirier twice in a row.
It’s interesting to note that Michael Chandler lost his last bout to Poirier through third-round submission. With a 2-3 promotional record, “Iron” claims victories over well-known athletes like Tony Ferguson and Dan Hooker.
